WEB 2.0 LEARNING OPPORTUNITY IN TANZANIA
Technological innovation is taking place at a breath-taking pace. Simple, open source internet-based applications and services designed to enhance on-line collaborations are now available to the wider public at little or no cost at all. The new technology known as Web 2.0 applications, sometimes called ‘social media” enable people to collaborate, to create, share and publish information.
From 27th -1 July, i had a chance to patcipate the web 2.0 Learning opportunity at University of Dar Es Salaam. During the training, I acquired skills regarding to conducting advanced multilingual online searches by the use of Search Magic, obtaining selected information via alerts and RSS feeds, developing contents remotely using wikis and Google Docs for remote collaboration and How to locate an organization and its projects on an online Map by the use of Online Mapping.
Therefore, as a Young Environmentalist Trainee in Tanzania, I will share these skills and knowledge to my fellow staffs at EMEDO and fellow Young Environmentalist Trainees hoping that they will also pass these skills to other Tanzanians, thus duplicating the efforts of CTA.
